the more I pratice, the better I feel about it. I hate giving speeches, but when I had to present my thesis (biggest speech I'd have to make) I praticed soo much that by the time it came I was just ready to get it over with

I practice the speech until I know it backwards and forwards. Then, before the speech, I take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Take your time, make eye contact and do your best!
Everyone is nervous before they give a speech. I imagine even President Bush gets nervous.

Public speaking can be one of the most nerve-racking experiences for some people. There are MANY tips out there, but the one I think helps (me) most:
When speaking to the audience, don't look anyone in the eye -- instead look over the tops of people's heads toward the back walls. Still leaves the personal "audience-facing" impression, but doesn't hang you up wondering about what a person is doing or thinking.

Not easy, I hate being in front of crowds also. Don't forget to breathe, don't lock you knees, don't clinch your muscles. Be careful, when you are nervous, you tend to speak faster. Pay close attention to that and try to speak at a set pace. Instead of looking at the people, look at the back of the room but don't just stare at one spot. Move your eyes around. Don't get too carried away with hand gestures but don't be to stoic either. Just try your best to be yourself and you'll do just fine.

I had read this while I was preparing for my thesis defense. What you need is a boost of confidence when you step up on to the podium. So......just imagine everyone in the room is naked including you, but since you are behind the podium no one can see you....that should make you feel more confident........it sure did help me :)
Good luck!!

Keep telling yourself they are people just like you and understand how you feel. Seriously just breathe deeply and talk slowly and loudly enough, connect with your audience through eye contact and smile it's gonna be alright.,
