This is a level of anorexia, an eating disorder. You may need help.

The thing is, we have been programmed by the media that our bodies have to be perfect. It often becomes very difficult to accept our bodies then, no matter what. Don't let the media programming run your life. Even if you were overweight, the only thing that would matter would be your health. Each person is beautiful and that is the attitude you should have. You will have to change your thought processes and, like I said, that may take therapy. Have respect for yourself. You do have value and it doesn't come by the pound. Try looking at food from a healthy diet perspective. Start watching your nutrition and be sure to eat balanced meals. That is the only way to be truly healthy, no matter what you weigh. Your health is far more important than your weight. Since you know you are not "fat", then don't tell yourself you are. Tell yourself you are gorgeous. Tell yourself you are intelligent. Tell yourself you are incredible. Keep those nasty thoughts out of your head.

If this continues or is already fairly severe, you need to get counseling. This can be very serious. But start with what you can do for yourself and change those thoughts!

Hi, if this is has been going on a while you need to deal with it now so it doesn't take over your life. Look for a local therapist who does 'Brief Solution Focused Therapy', it's very good for this kind of thing, and it's quick! Women need about 400 calories a day to be healthy (minimum) so get those from proteins like fish and egg white and eat salad too. Make sure that whatever you do eat is good for you and avoid sugar, it's not.
At the same time ask yourself if these feelings have been triggered by events around you, have you met someone new, are you being bullied or made to feel ashamed of your body? Sometimes girls around 11 to 16 don't want to grow up and lose their childhood, it can be a scary time, look out for a proper counsellor to talk things over with, your school/college/university/youth club etc will have one free or ask your doctor to recommend one. Don't hold this in, look for help, you're a beautiful person and you deserve to be happy. X

I have that feeling too, sometimes and I just have this stupid floater around my tummy. I know all I have to do is do a little more and eat a bit better.

Look at what you're eating and "healthy it up" a bit if its too snacky.

Eat fruit when you really fancy potato chips. Make yourself do at least five minutes a day of some kind of excercise that moves your whole body. Dance to something good.

Walk a lot. If you already do, walk faster or further. If you drive, see how much car time you can leave out of your day. Park further away from where you would normally park.

You're probably not fat but the fresh air will do your circulation good and that will drag away anything that is making you feel bloated. Drink at least two litres of water a day (I then retain water, but that goes away when I forget to drink the two litres of water...)

wow. u and me r exactly the same. i acknowledge that im not fat but im still not happy wit my body. everybody tells me that i cant get any more skinny, but i disagree. i dont really eat a lot and when i do, my meals r very far apart. i am also self consious, more than ur normal person. most ppl would say 2 hang out wit a fat person 2 feel btr bout urself, but i would have 2 say 2 just look at urself in the mirror and write down stuff that u naturally have that most ppl want or think about how lots of ppl have 2 take diet pills and go on crash diets just 2 bcome skinny. and since u say ur not fat, b happy that u dont have 2 break ur back just 2 look good. GOOD LUCK!

first of all check out the library to find out what the recommended weight is for your height- i think you can add at least a stone on top of that if you do regular excercise cos muscle weighs more

if you are well over this , then o.k you probably need to do some work, but start with small changes- healthier food and incorporate say 30 mins a day walking
you can do it
and you should eat little amounts of food every 3 hours to keep your metabolism churning
not eating will slow it down and make you fatter

Perhaps if you concentrate on eating healthily and focus on a healthy body, you might lose your obsession with fat. Discover what your body needs to be strong and fit. There really is more to life than appearance, you know. Does it really matter if you're a few pounds overweight? A size bigger?
You need to expand your horizons, take up a hobby - like cooking? Anything to free your mind from being so self-obsessed.. Get help/counselling.

If you know you're not fat but you feel like you are, you are letting others run your life. Whenever you feel self-conscious, or stop yourself from eating nutritious food when you are hungry, you should make a decision to defy those outside influences. Something may be making you feel unworthy or guilty. Forgive yourself and respect yourself enough to make sure you are eating properly. It may help with your feelings of worthiness if you also have a light exercise program. Take charge of your health, and don't let the judgments of strangers or your imagined critics sabotage your happiness. You deserve a good life, and I wish that you will have it.

Well your off to a good start by admitting your not fat. I have the same problem you do. Try doing crunches. Don't go all the way up like in a sit up but you go up far enough to work you stomache muscles. That should help tighten up your stomache.

Then these signs might be anorexia, but anorexia is a mental disorder and people are afraid to admit their disorders. So maybe you're just looking for attention.

You have a disorder. It's where you think you are fat but you're not. It may cause you to think you're ugly, unattractive, or feel out-of-proportion. Talk to a doc ASAP!
