I would take a knife. I wouldn't need a canteen, I could just drink straight from a stream or pomd. I wouldn't want to take my significant other because they'd have to suffer this too. If the island is deserted there is no need for modesty or clothes. And matches would eventually run out. A knife I could use to skin meat and cut branches for firewood.

matches. if i'm on a deserted island, i dont need the clothes, i can use other things on the island for a knife, i can use half of a coconut shell to hold rain water, so i dont need the canteen. i would need the matches to cook my food. i cant eat raw meat/fish. my significant other? well, who cares, i can live without him.

because we can do anything together and would find a way off the island.. i live in the Philippines so being stranded in a desert island is no big deal..

significant other....for the company....he would be mad if I left him behind. He would want to go on an extended vacation too. Ah... fishing & clam bakes...bathing in a waterfall....climbing trees for coconuts & bananas. Sleeping in a gently swaying hammock would be sweet with the ocean breeze cooling my cheeks....hmmm. No phone ...no t.v....no nada... just paradice.

I would choose a knife, just because it could be used to help get you food, used to help build you something, used for defence and for other use full things.

My significant other- My husband is very handy and the smartest person I know. He is very resourceful.
