ok well i luv all three of the stores, but face it...in the end your gonna want brand name clothes...but as much as you can get.......i personally think that the two other stores have cuter clothes than abercrombie and you would just go there to buy somethin for the name...get more for your money by getting shirts at hollister and pants/skirts at American Eagle. those are still name brands but wouldnt you rather get 2 pants for the price of what one would be at abercrombie when poeple really arent gonna care about the brand name?

I would go to all three and buy the reasonably priced clothes. I have to choose only 1- American Outfitters.

My dilemma is that 400 dollars won't buy much at the stores I shop at. American Eagle is soooo mundane. The others you mention are too. Try Nieman Marcus, Nordstrom, or if you have to, Macy's.

Hollister and Abercrombie, with a little bit of AEO.
Mix it up, buy a little from all three.
If i had to pick one, hollister.

Go somewhere else, sure the clothes are way cool..but you can get tons more somewhere else! Old Navy prices are way better..
