If you see an answer posted that is exactly the same as one you want to post, why do you post it again? I understand the ones that are within seconds of each other, or even minutes. It's possible you didn't see the one like yours. But why hours, or days later, do you post the same thing.

The same answer to the same question, means that the answer did not change. Especially if the question is technical in nature. Things just don't change that fast.

But take a look, there are hundreds of questions about SpyWare. There are hundreds about viruses. Many of these questions are not specific enough, so a canned answer is fine. If I have answered a general question before, and I believe that my answer is very good, I will simply COPY and PASTE the same answer again. Especially when I got positive feedback from a previous posting.

Take a look at my 5 star answers at my website. Just go to this page, scroll down and look at the links under "Yahoo Answers"

I can't believe that people would ask a question without using the search here first. Many of the answers are excellent. Sometimes, I get so thorough with my answer, I anticipate many of the details based on my best guess to what the real problem was.

Maybe it is because they don't read the other answers. I have done this several times. If I am interested I will read what other people said, but alot of times I just want to answer the question and move on.

Additional info:
I actually read all the answers before posting but did not see any like mine. Then I posted, I guess I took to long and others posted the same before me. LOL so their ya go.

When the question appears (after we click on "Answer this question"), some people just answer it without scrolling down to read what other people have said. That way their answers won't be influenced by others' thoughts.

Or maybe it's just laziness, like the people who keep posting the same questions that have been asked over and over, without checking to see if they've already been asked and answered.

I don't know why others have done this. Here is why I have done it. I didn't realize I was doing it, I just read the question and answered it as if I was having the conversation in real time. No offense meant. Just trying to enjoy the experience.

Many people answer the question on it's own merits, not stopping to see what other peple have said in response.

Come to think of it, I didn't check answers before I started typing this so sorry for any repetition.

I imagine many folks post to get the points. Not sure what the purpose of that is, since points aren't worth very much. ;P

Best wishes and God bless.

Because they want two points. Because they are unoriginal. Because they want to emphasize the right answer. Because they want to give you their opinion. Because they think it is important to give one answer a lot of support.
