Most odf the time on rap and rock videos women are portrayed as sex objects. Especially women of color. Barely clothed, barely legal woman are paraded around teaching our youth how to view women. Not as objects of mothers and sisters who deserve respect, but as images of sexual desire. Or is it just light hearted fun? I wanna know what you guys think...

PS: This isn't about whether rap is better than rock. Both music venues portray women in that fashion.

I think those chicks are doing what they want to do to make money. Many of them are using it as a stepping stone for their careers. I can't knock their hustle.
People always say use what you got to get want you want. Not everyone thinks that means BRAINS!!!
It's up tp us to decide what type of role model we want to be for young girls. Those women don't want to be role models. Most of them will probably tell you that.

This is an issue that has been bothering me for some time. It could be seen as harmless fun, but unfortunately these music videos are seen by young teenage girls who then think that this is how women should behave. If some women don't mind parading themselves as sex objects then that's ok for them as long as they can handle the attention that this provocative behaviour attracts. Young kids don't have a clue, and just think that this how to be popular and get noticed, and they are ill-equipped to deal with the consequences. (See my question on the song 'my humps'!)

Well, obviously sex sells. I don't think that we as women are being exploited like that. I believe that these are just beautiful women doing a job. I mean hey, if you got it flaunt it (to an extent.) I would never do something like that on a music video, but you have to think, don't we do the same kinds of things in the bedroom with our sweet hearts. We all want to be sexy. Mother's and sisters deserve respect, but come on, every woman wants to be sexy.

Whatever...I don't really care that much. I mean, sometimes I get a little pissed, but it's not like I'm the one in the video with, like, no clothes on. I don't think any people worth knowing really view women like that, so I just try to stay away from the ones that do.

it is stressful and that i do not for my section pay interest to a tremendous kind of rap track for that very reason. yet further and extra i'm looking that different races are being exploited for the very similar characteristic. Black women at the prompt aren't to any extent further the only ones with a huge butt.

I hate them, there is nothing light hearted or fun about them what so ever. Hip Hop is lost. There is no creativity in the music anymore. Trash.

definitely objects.
its also the girls fault for letting them do that to her. Women have choices, its not only guys fault. Those girls like that kind of life style. If they didn't, they would be our leaders, mothers, and sisters.
No one is to blame but themselves.
