"listen guys: if you want to play ps2 games just buy a ps2! all the bios, the roms, the plugins and the emulators are bullshit!Yes! there is an emulator that works ( if you have all the other stuff) but it’s redicously hard to find ( i found it on isohunt and after a mounth someone finaly seeded) but even with that you probably need one reeeaaallllyyyy smart computer ( i’m talking like dual core procesoor at least 3,6Ghz, 2gb ramm and one bad *** videocard)!I heard there was a post about a ps2 to pc game convertor! For the guy who posted that i will like to askim if he actually knows what he’s talking about? there was a ps to pc converter as well and a haved it but that thing takes a very very long time to work or doesn’t work at all!i mean long time in days like something because to convert a ps game with one cd it staid like 12 hours continously and created a 1Gb file and it wasn’t near finished! So all and all: buy a ps2 if you want to play a ps2 game and because of the releasing of new consoles the ps2 price has lowered so just buy the damn thing! believe me it worths!"
"PCSX2 is a PlayStation 2 emulator for the Linux and Windows operating systems. This emulator has gone quite far and improved a lot since its first release. As of May 2006 and version 0.9, some PS2 games are playable (though speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests impractical), and many have partial functionality. The main bottleneck in PS2 emulation is emulating the multicore PS2 on PC architecture. Although each CPU can be emulated perfectly, getting the synchronization and timing between them to be perfect is difficult.
PCSX2, like its predecessor project the Playstation emulator PCSX, is based on a plugin architecture, separating several functions from the core emulator. These are graphics, controls, CD/DVD drive, USB, sound and Firewire (iLink) ports. Different plugins may produce different results with one game, in both compatibility and performance.
Performance before 2006 was between 2 to 15 frames per second depending on the game, PC hardware, and plugin configuration, with the PS2 BIOS being one of the fastest pieces of software to emulate. Since release 0.9 in April 2006, performance has greatly increased. Most 2D games and menus started reaching 60-120 fps, ingame 3D was still slow. During this time, Pcsx2 started supporting dual core CPUs (frame rates usually doubled). With release 0.9.1 in Summer 2006, most 3D scenes hit frame rates of 15-30fps on a 3GHz machine. As of Summer 2006, there are CPUs, although expensive, that can run popular 3D games like Final Fantasy X at 60fps. PCSX2 is under active development.
Trivia
Sven Goran's World Manager 2002 was the first commercial game to 'do' something in the emulator, thus making PCSX2 the first emulator to emulate a commercial game.
Since PCSX2 0.9, many popular games had varying results from near-perfect emulation on some games to a few not working yet; or working, but with many graphical and timing issues, due to hard work of programmers.
Linuzappz, the head coder of the team left the PCSX2 project in 2005. Though with the help of his hardwork the emulator is now more than what most people expected it would be.
Zerofrog joined the team Jan 2006. Since then, PCSX2 has enjoyed steady and rapid increases in performance."

You need the bios files to play games. I do not remember where I got mines nor where I put it. If I do remember I'll let you know. For now, try googling them.
You must download the roms or put in the CD to start playing. Once you are able to play, then you will be able to save on the Memory Card.
P.S. Without the BIOS, the emulator is pretty much useless.

Although unrelated to the question, I think the first person basically answered it and I don't know where to get the BIOS either, what is with these tards and the wikipedia thing? The question WASN'T asking for a definition. It was asking HOW TO FIX A PROBLEM. Why do these people say oh I can look up teh WORD and then give you that defintion. At least try ANSWERING the question instead.
