Check with your insurance company. Most companies have "emergency roadside assistance" plans and they'll send someone out for free. I locked my keys in my car and the insurance sent someone out and I paid nothing.

Most cops won't do it as they don't want responsibility if they damage the lock, paint, glass or car.

Lock smith is about $55 if you hunt around. Also look for a "pop-a-lock" franchise in your area. Normally they are cheaper.

A trick for the next body style after yours...not sure if it works on older or not.....but take off your antenna. It will slide down between the door and gasket and can hit your power door lock button if you have power locks.

Do not break the glass as automotive glass is NOT cheaper than a lock smith. A side window on average is $100 to start and that isn't including installation.

Coat hanger works at times but can be very trying on the nerves.

If you know a paintless dent removal guy, he can do it with any of his long hood hail tools. Slide in between the door and gasket. You can pull the door out an inch without fear, plenty enough to slide something down.

Once you get in and can drive again......hit up a local AAA store and get a free plastic credit card wallet key made. That stupid plastic key has saved me at least 3 times.

A nice cop may help you, but otherwise a locksmith will be cheaper than replacing a broken window, which would be plan C.

Try calling a wrecker company. Most of the time they are pretty reasonable about unlocking vehicles. Or you might try the police department they sometimes unlock vehicles.
