I had gestational diabetes. My child was due on the 20th of July, the doctor wanted to have her c-section on the 12th... I asked for the 25th. She was born on the 25th. I wasn't effaced or dialated. Not sure how long after the 25th she would have been born. She was over 8lbs.

I doubt that the doctor will let you go much longer - you said that baby isn't to big since the diabetes is under control, so they may give it some time. But usually with diabetes, they don't let you go much past your date...good luck!

you can go as long as your doctor says all is fine! if you and the baby were in any danger, the doctor would have induced by now. The baby will come in his or her own time. :-) Good luck and congratulations!!!
