I guess not, but there probably IS a storyline that would be told on pirates 3 about how he lived. At least he's back (I liked his character). Probably, the witch lady brought him back to life, or something having to do with voodoo :)

Yes he did. But remember the ending line in 2. "You need a captain who has gone to the edge of the world and back." So if I were to guess, I would say to get Jack back, like Barbosa who came back from the grave, the adventurers will have to go to the edge of the world. We'll see if that is what happens in Pirates 3 due to come out summer of 2007.

At this point, I guess we're not sure. After all, Jack DID shoot him in Pirates 1 BEFORE the curse was lifted. Barbossa did bleed from the wound and fall (After saying "I feel cold"), and he was still lying there after the credits when the monkey went back to get a coin and become undead again. I'd say yes he did.
If you'll remember the first time Jack and co. enter Tia Dalma's shack, we see a pair of boots obviously belonging to someone in the background. I think that she brought him back from the dead.

He did die at the end of Pirates 1 BUT apparently Tia Dalma ( The Vooodoo Lady ) has brought him back from the "End of the World", and that is where she intends to send them to retrieve Jack. ( I figured some of this out from the script of Pirates 3 ;)

He didn't necessarily die, although it seemed very probable the way he was shot. Also, you have Tia Dalma with her crazy voodoo, she could have resurrected him. When Jack comes and gives her the monkey (my favorite line "look, an undead monkey") there is someone lying down and we see his boots when the monkey runs off. Now he could have just been sleeping, or more likely Tia Dalma had not yet resurrected him.

Yes. But Tia Dolma is... special. She probably used her powers to bring him back from the dead. I've heard theories that she's Calypso (the sea goddess) and for that reason she's able to do all the divining she does and make Jack's unique compass, etc. O yeah, and I've also heard the theory that she's the one that Davey Jones was in love with and cut his heart out for... But that's kinda off topic...

It did seem that jack sparrow killed him when he stabbed him after will turner let his blood hit the treasure to end the curse on the pirates however it was never actually said that he was dead and it didnt actually show you if he was actually dead.

Nope, at the end of the credits of part 1, the monkey stole one of the coins.

Yes, but I think that woman can bring people back from the dead or something. That's what they want to do with Captain Jack.
