Yes, he was part of that very technically efficient Romanian side of the 1990s.
He was nicknamed the "Cobra", because he was deadly in the box.

I remember the 1994 Romanian team, which boasted himself, the great Hagi, Popescu and others. I believe Marius Lacatus was his partner at one time (not sure). Their triumph over Colombia, rekindled good memories.

Also, I believe the Cobra was a scorer in either one of both games, when Romania defeated England in France 1998 and Euro 2000.

Adrian Ilie named as the Kobra is one of the Gold generation player he was and is one of the most known Romanian football(soccer) palyer HAI ROMANIA ! he was Valencia`s best player he scored a lot of goals! Lasa ca ne calificam in 2008
