"100 Hundred Years" by Five for Fighting! That is one of the sadest songs ever. My 15 year-old cousin died of cancer a few years back when this song was released and I had just lost one cousin (age 35-of a heart attack) just a few months before her. This song always makes me cry because it shows how short and precious life is! You don't have all the time in the world. We are here only for a short while.

The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, by Makem & Clancy. Powerful, bitter song about a man who lost his legs in the war. My dad used to play it all the time on road trips, and it'd always make us sad.

The second verse to the title track from Mark Wills' 1998 album is a tear dripper. The song (and album) is called "Wish You Were Here". The lyrics to the second verse are as follows:

"She got a call that night, but it wasn't from him.
It didn't sink in right away. 'Ma'am, the plane went down, our crews have searched the ground, no survivors found,' she heard him say". It goes on, but that's the worst part

I'm a wimp when it comes to sentimental music...can't choose just one...

'O, Danny Boy' (Irish Traditional) - very emotional song...
'California Blue' - Roy Orbison - or anything with Roy singing...
'In The Ghetto' - Elvis Presley - a tear jerker...no explanation required other than the glorious voices

Concrete Angel by martina mcbride because it's telling a story about a girl dying from child abuse and it makes me sad to think that it really does go on in the world.

"Asleep" by the Smiths, "Hey you" by Pink Floyd, "Beautiful occupation" by Travis. I don't know why, but these songs just make me cry..... Maybe the melody has something to do with it, because these songs aren't so sad actually.
