I've heard bad things about it.
I'd stick with the pill.

As quoted:
"I'm not so sure it's good to skip a period. I had a horrible time with the NuvaRing causing bad cramps and pain during intercourse; you should probably take a break every three weeks and have a period. "

As quoted;
"Funny....I have been on the Nuvaring for 4 weeks now and just yesterday decided to take it out and try a different contraceptive.

I had the same problem. I could feel mine also. My Dr told me to take a tampon applicator and push the ring up with that. I tried that and it didnt work. I tried pushing it up as far as I could with my own finger and still didnt work. My husband and I had sex and when we finished it came out with him! He said he felt like the game at the carnival with the pop bottle and the rings! LOL sorry had to throw that in....was too funny.

Anyways, I also started to get other side effects. Such as:

*piercing headaches that Advil couldnt take away
*sudden chills
*emotional rollercoaster (like deppression)
*pregnancy symptoms
*nauseau
*low low sex drive (which is unusual for me)
*sharp chest pains

It was really really weried, because some of these side effects came at different times and I never put two and two together until I got on the intertnet and I started to research more on the Nuvaring.

I found a helpful site where other ladies who have or who are using the ring have sent in messages to a message board.

Oh yeah, and it also kept feeling like a baby kicking in my lower stomach area. I also found out that it is another side effect. Its called "foreign body sensation". Weried, eh?

I was bummed because I really wanted the Nuvaring to work for me.

I also read that if the ring keeps falling out and you can physical feel it when you wipe than you might have a prolapsed (drooped) uterus. And they say you may have to try a different form of b.c.

Well, good luck!"

The ring and the pill have pretty much the same chance of failure. The difference is that you have to take the pill at the same time everyday for it to remain effective, and the ring just stays inside of you. In some women the ring can cause discomfort. You might want to look up the side effects and risks for the ring if you are thinking of using it. Also, with the pill, there are instances where women have to try many different types of the pill until they find the right kind. You should go to your doctor. It would be easier for them to decide which is the best type for you by looking at your health history and your concerns.

Most birth control is about equally effective if used correctly. So the ring will be much more effective if you can't remember to take the pill. I use it and I love it.

i was on the "ring" for a couple of years. i liked it. i didn't have to remeber to take a pill, only to remove it once a month. you get used to it. i also found that the weight gain wasn't as bad. i'm not on it anymore because i'm pregnant ... i went off the ring 3 months ago . this is a planned pregnacy

I agree with Sausage Fingers. A wedding ring is a fantastic birth control measure!

Get a Mirena IUD, I LOVE it! You can have it in for 5 years before you need another one. VERY VERY low doses of hormones (almost none at all) and it's the most effective form of birth control out there.

Plus, I don't get any more cramps and if I get a period, it's a little bit of spotting for one day and that's it.

I am not sure but from a guy's prospective we can feel it. and sometimes it hurts, if you think about it, rub a semi-hard plastic ring on one of the most sensitive parts of your body for about 45 mins... It gets raw!

I am really not playing, that is the truth!
