My grandaddy lived in Kansas, and I guess it's not much different from anywhere else. As for stereotypes... Um, well I think grains like corn, wheat and rye are huge crops. I thought everything was kinda flat, and resembles Oklahoma, somewhat. I have no idea if y'all have lakes or what, but it seems pretty landlocked. I know you have storm cellars because you have lots of tornados... Not sure what you'd do for fun 'round there. I'm sure you must have some cities, but I can't imagine they would compare to Boston or New York. Country people are country people everywhere, with the NASCAR, NRA affilliations, and the trailer parks, baby mommas and baby daddies...downhome, county fair, country music lovin'... I'm sure you must have Wal-Marts every 10 miles, and Sonic restaurants and stuff like that. Come visit me in WESTERN Massachusetts sometime, I'd be happy to share. :)

I was raised IN Wichita and have watched it explode into a population of 400,000+..true Ks. is somewhat flat in the southern region, alot of farmland and farmers..most people dont realize that Kansas City Kansas is actually larger in land size than Missouri side of KC..Good and bad people in all parts like anywhere else, tornadoes galore so basements are a must have or shelter,Most people I know will help ya out if necessary, and its a fun active place in the city as well as the country attractions like state fairs,etc...Ks. feeds alot of the people in the USA..to me its great!..=)

I knew a guy from Kansas, once, who had a T-shirt made that read, "Born to Raise Wheat."

i also live in Kansas, and i find that boring is the most used word for it. but Wichita is getting some cool things, like a waterwalk and destination restaurants.

My knowledge of Kansas stems from "The Wizard of Oz". I would say that there are many farms and country roads.

Um... They all get sucked up in huge tornados and have ruby slippers??? LOL, just kidding. I don't have any stereotypes about Kansans themselves, just a few about the state (flat, boring, etc.)

The only term I have ever had applied to it was "boring." Except for Wichita, which has been labeled as dangerous.
But I KNOW where you live cannot be more boring or dangerous than where I live!
