India is having so many geniuses, experts, why still it is underdeveloped?

It is not underdeveloped. If you mean to help in any way, just make it an oasis in your mind already. Who wants another America. Who said all the infrastructure we have is needed really. Why do they need to cover up fresh earth with cement. All india needs is large shipments of seeds of all kinds, and cactuses if they have water problems. Let them live how they already live. They have a religion a language and traditional dress, what more could they need. They have thier own government too.So all you can do is help with seeds. People think how do we send food it costs so much? Send seeds.And keep in mind they eat certain foods.

The country is so overpopulated. What does the intellectual development of some people have to do with poverty, infrastructure and the food supply?

I think it's great that many people from India are becoming well educated to a superior degree. However, I feel that India, China and other very populous countries will continue to have poverty, disease and malnutrition problems until population is controlled and food is better and more evenly distributed.

Large country...large population. A very high percentage of the population is below the poverty line. Don't forget they have only had independance within "this" generation. Look how many generations from independance that it took the U.S.A. to get to where it is now. I see India as moving at a faster rate than many other countrys have to achieve the same thing.

Historical poplation growth, now slowing. Also, how widespread is education? How many people get to graduate from high school or attend university? Is that more a function of the socioeconomic status of your parents, or a reflection of your ability? And is the income of individuals tied more to educational level, or who your family is?

Beacuse of the caste system, because most "geniuses" leave the country and come here, and finally because there is a very high population.

i am not indian, but i think the reasons include:
1-the very long british occupation which exploited the nation's resources and created so many long-lasting problems before it left (e.g.: the kashmir problem)
2-the very large population size and rapid population growth
3-corrupted governments
4-not very motivated or disciplined people (not all people, just many people)
5-regional problems and wars (with pakistan, china, iran, etc)
6-the US efforts aiming at preventing the rise of any superpower

there are many reasons to it....
most of the geniuses that u r talkin abt i.e. iits',iims' graduates go abroad after their education coz they don get money they deserve here...
they don get adequate support from the government which does our country no good....
most of us are ignorant towards our country's problems and we never do anything to improve its state...as long as we are earnin money we are happy and dont do anything to improve the state of the poor and the needy...


population,poverty doesnt help our cause either....basically its the people of india themselves who can really make a difference to this country (provided that they don remain ignorant to the problems plaguing th ecountry..)

Because with my business dealings with Indians, I have found its all about trying to get everything for free.

Can you imagine living in a country where everyone is cheap, and trying to rip you off? Must do wonders for the economy.
