Russell Brand is on TV because somebody somewhere in C4/E4 Big Brother land hired him didn't they?
Love Muscle Russell (as Davina calls him) was seen by BB people as a young up and coming talent. He was had a cult status on the Comedy circuit when he was doing stand up & was raising his profile & getting more successful. To TV producers he was seen as slighty edgy,crazy and funny as well as good looking young man (some say sexy, maybe a little bit until he opens his mouth!). They already had sensible lovely Dermot doing watershed BBLB & now also doing serious BBBB (Big Brain) and with Davina anchoring the show, they wanted to strech out BB even more by introducing a forum type show (first E4rum then later called BBBM).
Russell is slightly risque but can get away with the ballbags things & sex/drugs innuendos because
1) he has been there & done it,
2) its on at 10pm so he has license to shock
and
3)he is young & good looking & not at the pervy old man stage yet.
I wouldn't call him a c**t - thats a little crude even by Russell's standards - You Swine!

Trouble is these days being a c**t is practically required for being on TV. Just look at most of the people on BBC3!

I've no idea why he's on TV but GET HIM OFF GET HIM OFF. Hes so unfunny, he loves himself and have you seen the state of him, hes soo ugly.
