Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!

1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.

2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.

3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.

4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.

5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.

6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

Yes, so many people knw this answer. A good dermatologist has a variety of techniques, and medication that can help make a big difference.

Some people have mild acne issues even into their 30's. SO don't feel bad.

The main factors in working with solving your problem are:
Cleansing and Cosmetics, Diet, Proper Treatement.

Treatment options include:
* Surgery
* Corticosteroid therapy (Localized cortisone treatment)
* Accutane Therapy

These are usually for severe cases. For more ordinary problems, over the counter cleansers used religiously, along with following a good diet is a method you can use.

My advice is, it it bothers you, regardless of the level of severity, discuss it with a dermatologist.

Change your diet. No fatty foods (burgers & co.). Meticulous cleansing at least twice a day with an appropriate cleanser and afterwards with a suitable cream. Most people develop acne because their skin is too dry and their body produces more sebum to compensate the dryness.

I sure wouldn't recommend using cortisone, as some other people have! With time your skin will become very brittle and you are too young for that.

Cut way down on sugar and oily foods. Get some Strydex pads and rub them on the areas affected (Strydex pads contain no alcohol which dries out the skin too much). Strydex is also over the counter so try it before spending lots of $ on a dermatologist. Worked great for me. Especially cutting down on sweets and oil. I occasionally get acne and I'm 41!

I am twenty-two and I have struggled with major acne since puberty. I have oily/combination skin, and what works best for me is Neutrogena's Facial Scrub followed up with Olay's Cleansing Wash and a moisturizer in the morning, and washing again before bed with the cleansing wash and putting on moisturizer. One of the best moisturizers I have ever used is Oil of Olay's Daily Moisturizer with UV protection. I highly recommend that you use a moisturizer with UV protection. Equate makes a great generic facial moisturizer with sunscreen as well. (And it only costs about a third of what Olay's costs!) If you wear makeup, it is especially important to wash it off before you go to bed, and be sure to stay hydrated to allow your skin to naturally clean itself.
My sister used the Proactiv system for years- she loved it, but it just didn't work for my skin. Don't be afraid to try different products or to talk to someone behind the skincare counter at a high-end store- you may not want their product, necessarily, but they can give you some helpful advice. Best wishes!

Soap and water,

wash your face everyday until the skin is actually dry. This will pull you pores apart and clear up your face it will hurt and as such is cheap way to it. It is however a low tech solution that is a way I used it as a kid. It will cause your skin to "exploitilte" grow new layers and new layers will grow. It pulls you pores apart so as not to allow acne to form.

However you need to make sure when you sweat that you clean your face or the problem will resume,.

Cost 50 cents

clear face priceless.

There is no point to spend big money on this issue, but my solution is not pain free.

Get a dermatologist. They will probably tell you to do stuff like wash your face and don't pick at (or pop) acne.

Treatment could include face peels, the doctor picking at your acne w/ sterile tools (I guess it doesn't spread acne like if you picked at it yourself) and give you prescriptions (like Retin-A or anti-biotics). Steer clear of Acutane. The side-effects are bad (high cholesterol , can't take it while pregnant, cracked lips, etc).

best thing to do is keep your face clean and don't get toothpaste all over your mouth. Stress causes acne, too.

I recommend that you have to wash your face often and always go to bed early because if you stay up late the acne will get worst if you stay up late. Please just wash your face everyday to make your face absolutely fresh when you wake up early.

P.S.
Always be responsible to your face and always take care of it, if not your face would be in worst condition. Don't get proactiv because you will refund it every month that will cost you a lot of money so don't get it,and i have a friend that used it but it didn't work.
BYE...... :-)

accutane is one of the strongest Acne medicines, and one of the most effective, only available through perscription. Go ask your doctor about it, here is a link with some positives and negatives like side effects.http://health.yahoo.com/drug/d01245a1 My brother used this stuff when he was like 17 and it worked like a charm

hrrmmm . .

i use Olay.

But i dunno if it will work for you.

Whatever you do, do NOT! get proactive it works just as good as Oxy.

So get oxy and oxy pads that get zits gone! My older bro uses it and it works great!

Ummm . . lemme see what else . . .

oh yeah try a spot cream to apply to a zip to help minimize it Clearosol works good.

is that it . . . lemme think oh yeah DRINKS LOTS LOTS WATER!

* why is every1 reccomending proactive?? TRUST ME IT IS NO GOOD it might work for a few ppl but if you do not buy it every month ($60 average a month) then you are out of luck!!

I know 3 ppl who used proactive and have complained!! it drys out the skin, it makes them have a burning sensation, it does not work as effectively as advertised!

But it is your choice why pay $60 for something you can get for $5?!?!?!?!?!?
