Run the other direction and don't stop until the day you die ... or the day you find out what your life is really all about. Serously, I am serious. The world of corporate law on Wall Street is a world that only exists for those who have a will of iron, nerves of steel, and resiliency that can withstand a nuclear blast. Being smart or merely desirous of a sexy lifestyle will not prepare you for jack. The ability to persevere through it all ... that is the ticket. You won't know if you have it until you try.
To start, take the law school admissions test (LSAT). If you score in the top 10% or so, you may timidly move forward towards the prize. At that point, apply to every school you can think of that is of the highest tier you think might accept you, and pick the best school that accepts you. From there, work your a$$ into the ground because your 1st year grades don't talk. ... they SCREAM!!!! If you are fortunate enough to get grades in the top 10 or 15% (a smaller band if the economy is tight), you will probably get a clerkship for a summer with a smokin' hot law firm. They will treat you like royalty and tell you how awesome you are. Don't believe them. They only intend to work you into the grindstone until you are pulverized into dust. Keep the unbelievable amount of money they pay you for going to parties and doing nothing significant for a summer ... it is better than any trip to Disneyland you ever imagined. Once you are harnessed to the ox team, work like the devil and strive to learn all you can. If you were meant to do this profession, it will click on for you very quickly and you will be in the small percentage of the top 10 percent of your law school that made it past 2 or 3 years of practice on Wall Street. If you weren't cut out for it, thank God that you will get to enjoy a peaceful and happy life where the flowers bloom in God's garden.
If you get past 5 or 6 years, then 10, you will need to take a serious career assessment and fight yourself to the wall over the horrible career choice you have made. Nobody loves you, your wife has divorced you, your friends are just waiting to stab you in the back, and your clients are laughing at you as they cash in on zillions while you work for the billable hour and help them all retire early so that they don't need you as their lawyer anymore.
If you get to 20 years, well, you won't see many people from your law school class still practicing law. You will know at that time that you made it.
On the other hand, you may enjoy every bit of what I just described. It is all true. I've done it and love my work. It has been total agony and totaly ecstasy. You will never top my experiences ... not the highs or the lows. I almost feel sorry for myself but I've loved it so.

well first. law school for a degree in corporate law and then get some experience as an intern or associate in a big corporate law firm for your experience. after a while, when you're comfortable in the field, then you can consider venturing out on your own.

You will be working with sharks cover your self at every angle. Watching the movie swinging with sharks it is not always like that but it can be like that.
But that is the real world and it is not at all pleasant. We create our own unique reality in our house hold and or in or families.
