Insects that fly into and around an artificial light source, are not doing so because they "like" the light, but rather because as nocturnal insects they use natural sources of light like the moon or stars to navigate thier course to feeding places etc. They dont come out in the day simply because that is not what they are adapted to do, most insects out at night like moths feed on night blooming flowers, or other bugs feed on bugs that dont come out until it is dark and cool like the mosquito. So there is no point in them coming out during the day when there is nothing for them to eat.
