I feel the same why I feel when I hear someone call a Jewish Person a Kite, an Irish Person a Mick, and an Italian Person a guinny.

These are all hateful names born of predjuice and all they do is manage to keep us apart from one another. Slavery was probably the worst thing done in the US to immigrants. But you should read your history. There were Help Wanted signs in Boston, New York, Chicago, etc that said No Irish or Catholics need apply.

Jews became physicians and lawyers and started their own businesses as soon as possible because noone would hire them. Eventually it changed, but in places of insufficient education and lower income these tribal ephilets are still used everyday.

Personally, I think you can insult someone without resorting to curses, racial or religious slurs (if that's what you want to do). My father used to say dirty words were used by someone who lacked a creative brain. Being told you are pond scum, rat feces, have alligator skin, more body odor than a money with the runs, is actually worse, because it's new and the person you are insulting knows that you actually put effort into it.

It is a pity that people can not let go of racism. Perhaps there will be a virus one day that changes people's skin color to random rainbow colors. Then people would still yell "You Bluer!" "Yeah, well up yours Greener!"

Visual recognition is learned early. It enables the baby to recognize who is a parent and who isn't. Have you noticed how little babies smile and coo at anyone who picks them up but a little later cry if a stranger picks them up? It is a strong ability in humans. We just don't seem able to give it up as we grow older. The unknown becomes strange, feared, dangerous, hated and killed. Tribes and clans form and create patterns of recognition in clothing, language, and behavior. It has happened throughout history in all societies. In our young lives it is a necessary part of survival. In our maturity, we are not able to let go of the feeling.

People have to choose their own path. If they are wise and can find a kind heart within themselves, they can choose a path which is based on respect for themselves and others. If they choose fear, they separate from strangers, and their life history repeats what has happened before.

Slavery has been part of human history since the first clan conquered another and made them work. All races have been both slaves and slavers. Today there are children who are slaves, there are women who are slaves, there are drug addicts who are slaves, there are people all over the world who are slaves. It would be simpler if only blacks had been slaves, and slavery was over. Such is not the case.

I don't believe that the black race is being destroyed. Not by racism. The big killer of black africa is the combination of poverty, ignorance, political and economic expedience, and HIV.

It is summed up in a sentence from the movie 'Firewall.' Quote: "I don't hate you. I just don't care about you."

Don't worry about a 'slave mentality.' Worry about poverty, ignorance, political and economic expedience, and HIV.

What do I think when I hear Blacks use the 'n' word??? Well, I think if anyone has the right to say it, it's them, but I don't agree with anyone using it EVER!

But you should not DWELL on slavery...you need to know about it so that it never happens again, but it's dumb to try to use slavery to get what you want. To get rid of the slave mentality, everyone needs to focus on the future. Hopefully in the future, everyone can be treated equally, and we won't have to worry about slavery ever again.

When black people call each other the N word I laugh my butt off because they don't get pissed, but you hear a cracker call a black person a n***** and all heck breaks loose.

It's not a trickle down effect of slave mentalities, their self image is of their own making. One of the most successful white persons was Dave Thomas the founder of Wendy's he was an orphan and at that time orphan's were the sh*t of the world, so explain how he made it.

The negative energies surrounding this word have enveloped the african american race, and not only do they use it in hateful ways toward one another, but they use it jovially as well. The energy this word carries forward will only hold them back. White people invented the word, so why should they use it so flippantly? Brother would be a far better substitute, whether from black to black, white to black, hispanic to chinese...
Let's stop all the hatred that is killing our Mother Earth.

I think it's crazy. But, I've heard it defened by comedians and other black celebrities as a different word that sounds the same.
They say "N.I.G.G.A." is a special word only black people can use with eachother. The one with "er" on the end is the bad one. I don't get it, but I am pretty damn white, bro.

Don't dwell on slavery; learn from it and educate the people who use that word to address themselves or others.
