I live in Minnesota (the twin cities area, to be exact) and I've seen temps of about -40 this past winter. I don't think that was the coldest it got, though.
Also, some of you people have never seen REAL cold; when it gets to the below-zero temperatures, it actually feels kind of refreshing when you first walk outside (and it wakes you up pretty damn quick!). After a few seconds, though, it starts to feel like you've been slapped in the face.

It was minus 47 degrees here this past winter, and it stayed below -30C for over 2 weeks with 3 1/2 feet of snow. I had cabin fever! LOL not really but you dont go out much in that kind of cold.
Ps it was -47 with no windchill incase you were wondering....with the wind chill it got down to -65C here last winter once or twice. By the way I am in Canada...Northern Ontario.
