If you believe in social Darwinism, than no you really aren’t obligated. If you just look at all the people who have advanced degrees, you’ll see that they’re taking advantage of this by exploiting those who are either lesser educated or in a situation that is socially less advantageous to others. It was Henry Louis Mencken who once said “No one in this world has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.” After all education brings about opportunity, opportunity often necessitates one to exploit that situation for the greater or lesser good, and often for personal gain. This doesn’t mean that you’re a bad person for it though, nor does it mean that you can’t use your intellect for good purposes. It just depends on what your motivations are and weather you feel morally obligated, but overall it’s entirely up to you.

No, but many people find it very gratifying to volunteer their time for literacy projects and the like. I believe everyone should make some sort of volunteer contribution to their community regardless of their education, intellect or financial status. Everyone can do something.

Obligated , no. but I would like to think that they would want to out of the goodness of their hearts. I would not be surprised if they didn't though, there are a lot of selfish people in the world.

mutually as I do have faith that Leftists many times think of they are the neatest man or woman in a room, everyone who believes that a cradle to grave nanny state way of existence will motivate creativity isn't all that clever in case you question me. Liberty and the liberty to savor the end results of ones exertions is what conjures up creativity and productiveness. all of us understand that now after working this test over right here for the final 2 hundred thirty some years. For everyone to permit themselves to be confident that to circulate back to the way of existence that existed in what ever united states of america your ancestors left to return right here, isn't probably all that clever the two. seems as though they are commencing up to return to their senses in Europe, and we are making a mad sprint interior the comparable course they went. i assume it is using the fact we are human beings, and as such, we are able to do Socialism extra desirable than everyone else can. Cuban human beings tend to be very conservative, because of the fact they have seen first hand what occurs once you initiate down that slippery slope that broadcasts "a touch socialism is okay"

what a great question.
Who decides what an obligation is? How do you help...in your job? By joining the Peace Corps? By donating money and/or time. I'm a teacher, so helping is what I do.

Not unless you are a doctor. If you are a doctor something in the Hipocratic oath says that it is your duty to help train the children of other physicains. Of course, you could disreguard it.
