Last night, my almost 2 year old brother had a minor fever and went to bed early. My mom got up with him in the morning, and suddenly, his body went stiff and rigid and his legs and arms were twitching, and he was screaming really loud. This happened about 3 times, and has never happened in the past when he had a fever. My mom thought it was a seizure, and took him into the emergency room. The doctor, however, claims we would have been unconsious if it had been a seizure, and claims he had a "startle reflex." I find this hard to believe, but I was wondering if anyone out here would have an insight for me of what it could be. The doctors claim its virus and nothing serious, but hes never done this before!
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

I would take him to another doctor for a 2nd opinion.. they will need to do more extensive testing to determine this..but remember that seizures dont always mean that the body "shutters"...I have a friend who has a son that is 7 and she would ask him a question..and he wouldnt answer her..she thought he was ignoring her... however after a few things started happening..she found out through testing he is epileptic..and was having short seizures..but was standing normal..he just looked like he was in space...his eyes were glazed over...so I would get a 2nd opinion..cant hurt.

If it takes position again i'd def take him immediately to medical institution. preserving that although febrile seizures may be quite uncomplicated. It takes position even as a newborn's temperature unexpectedly is going as a lot as severe. i'd nonetheless bypass for a 2d opinion as they can reassure you extra and furnish you with the accurate thanks to manage it
