Well...okay, it probably means you've run out of luck. A rabbit's foot is good luck, and a rabbit with a cut off leg, means that the luck is on somebody else's side, implementing therefore, that you do not have any. =S
And, just out of curiousity, that was really found on someone's doorstep?? Poor rabbit...R.I.P, you little furry thing..and may those who got you in that state be appropriately punished..

It means someone's cat has taken a shine to you and left you a gift to feed you. The cat was a little hungry and wanted to make sure the wabbit was fit for your consumption before leaving it there. My cat used to do it all the time.
