Space may well be round or it could be square, it could even be that empty bottle at the back of the cupboard, Time and size are only relevant in our way of thinking, a billion year could only be a second to the guy that owns the bottle in the back of the cupboard. Maybe he is on Holiday so it could be ages before he throughs the bottle out. You may well have several whole universe's at the back of your cupboard. The thinking on space is a big one and lets face it anything is possible. lol

space is ever expanding. The echo model that returned the signals was sent out in a 360 degrees, hence that is why the echo returned as if it was bouncing off walls in a round room when in fact the signals in all direction bounced off objects in space since there are billions of objects in all directions the likelyhood is that they returned off of other objects. Einstein and Stephen Hawkins both agree that space is infinite. No ending. No boundaries. The only theorized boundary would be the beginning the point of origin.

Space is infinate in height and width. An echo can come back for any number of reasons. It hit a star, a meteor, as long as it wasn't a black hole.
Space is ongoing this test could not prove anything to that effect. They would have had to send something several hundred thousand years ago to recieve it back. Unless it hit something, there are so many objects in space, it is impossible to send something without it hitting anything.
Besides we have yet to see or even take pictures of what we might think is the edge. What then? What is beyond the edge? Another universe and then more and more untill we end up in marbles as the play things of large aliens. Like the ending to Men in Black lol.

Just because you detect an echo, it doesn't mean that you have reached the end of Space. It just means that the sound or light has been reflected off something. If you had reached the end of Space, what do you think would reflect the image? There is unlikely to be a brick wall there.

Space is never ending. The echo did not return. What happened was that someone on another planet heard our hello message, and repeated it back to us. It could have been received by many people, but so far we have only received one responce. That does not mean that other responses are not on the way.

Various theories, but if the universe began with a singularity and expansion of spacetime was roughly uniform in 3 spatial dimensions then a sphere would be logical shape.
This is subject to lots of variables however.

No. Space is without end, it cannot be catagorized, Nor can we comprehend infinity. But to have shape means an ending. We cannot have an ending, what is beyond the ending?

It can't possibly be round, because round refers to 2 dimensional!

No one knows because we have never seen the outer edges of space.
