Could be. What people don't know is that the general warming trend that has been going on for two hundred years, on top of whatever impact global warming is having, has the possibility of leading -- ironically -- to a new ice age. There is concern, for example, that run off from the melting of the Greenland ice cap will reduce the salt content, and thus the density, of water coming from the gulf stream. This, in turn, might cause the gulf stream itself to "turn off." Because the gulf stream keeps northern Europe relatively temperate by pumping warmer, equitorial water into the region, shutting it down will likely cause a significant cooling that will mimic the effects of an ice age.

Further, the gulf stream is only part of a worldwide "conveyor" that moves water through the world's oceans and to/from the southern polar regions. A change in one part of the conveyor -- the gulf stream -- is likely to impact climate worldwide.

No, we are going through an extreme warming trend called Global Warming.

CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater.
Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950.
(see links below)

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Ithink it was already here. I think the opposite of the Ice Age is coming with all the global warming people talk about. I could use a little ice right now. It is HOT!

no the ice age can't come because every thing is melting. There is no trees platation which is the most important reason for the earth to destroy

There will be a need of reverse osmosis to occur for the ice to return.

If the oceanic conveyor belt theory is anything to go by, then yes, it's coming sooner rather than later.
