BTW, very good question!!!
We would have lower gas prices...
Less global warming!
We would have let Sunni Iraqis kill the other Iraqis, without us getting blamed for it...and without losing the lives of our own young men, and a few women...
We would not have 3/4 of the world hating us...
Instead of imperialistic foreign policy, we would have put our own house in better order...
And, we would be better prepared for the eventual attack that North Korea is planning to make on us, on the West Coast...
911 was just a demonstration...Saying that, anyone, anywhere...even a 6'6" Arab in a cave, 12,000 miles away, can wreeck havok on people that are asleep! National security got their wake up call!

He would have done nothing about 9-11 and the muslim extremists would have over-run new york. Also bush grounded all flights after 9-11, because he suspected other flights had terrorists on board. With gore we probably would have kept flying and had five disasters on 9-11. Because on some of the grounded flights there were arab "guests" sitting in the pilot jump seats just like on the doomed flights.
Gore would have done the same thing to get ben Laden that Clinton did--Nothing. Yes 9-11 WOULD have happened and the results would have been far worse because other flights would have crashed too. see above. We would be hiding in bomb shelters under martial law, because a frozen al- gore would have not known what to do and would have ceded his authority to the UN. the muslims would be taking over if gore had won. You would be wearing a berka and chanting to Allah.
In addition, under Gore, The muslims would have been given free reign to do what they wished. Dems only let the world walk all over the USA. There would have been several attacks in various places in the USA, high taxes, would have tanked the economy, and millions of people would be broke, dead, or on the streets with no money.
Also, Gore would have sent the soldiers to the wrong place, our helicopters would have all crashed, like under Jimmy carter, and if there were a war to stop terror, gore and Madelyn albright would immediately stop it and let muslim extremests take over the White House and run the USA. Thank God Gore Lost.

Based on the way Clinton responded to the 93 WTC attack, I don't think we would have invaded Afghanistan. In fact, I'm not sure much would have beendone in response to 9/11 had Gore been elected.
Unfortunately, 9/11 would have happened regardless of the president. Remember, it took years to plan and train for, the election of Bush was inconsequential to the plans of Al Queda.
As a nation, whether we'd be better or worse off, I doubt there's a good way to answer it. From my point of view as a Republican, I think we'd be worse off. Gore's opinions bout the economy, enviornment, and his lock box... ugh...

i) Osama would have been handed over to a third country and tried.Justice would have had its course.
ii) There would have been no question of 9/11.Anyway the exact motto behind 9/11 is still unclear.Who was behind 9/11 Osama or Mossad is still not clear. Will the Jews ever let Ameriacans even think otherwise.
iii)There would have been no attack on Taliban's Afghanistan. They could have become American's friends. After all they were their hatched flock.Who can believe or confide in americans if they could betray their own allies in war withUSSR?
iv)Bush tried to hide/coneal theROBERY he cmmitted in an endevour to become President by endangering the peace of entire world. Is it safer than before? What a MESS,this man GEORGE BUSH created.Don't you see that he is worse than Hitler,Stallin and Ossama put togeather.ALGohr was and is a genleman above all winner of the ELECTIONS.How can you compare him with a CHEAT?
v) Their appears no hope of bringing the world back to the era of Clinton+AlGohr.Tony Blair could very well have learnt from his Ancestors who ruled the entire world. How? Only through JUSTICE.But he is also blind folded.Nothing is right for him.
May GOD save world, may He put these scoundrals on the right path.May they see the LIGHT!

Yes, it would be different. We would have had 9/11 and his response would have likely been fairly pathetic. More than likely, by now, we would have had another massive attack in the US with nuclear suitcase bomb(s) and millions of Americans would be dead. Gas prices would still be high because China would still be buying it all up but the US economy would be seriously depressed from all the dead and dying in the cities. Not only that, but Gore would likely have additional taxes on it up to 50 cents a gallon. We would be much, much worse off.

If Gore would have been president during 9/11, we would have seen a lot more destruction that day and in the days following. We wouldn't see an end to terrorism on American soil. We would not have gone to Afghanistan, and we would not have been in Iraq. Financially, things would be about the same. Anything dealing with the terrorists/etc. would have been done in a very passive manner.

He probably did win the 2000 election, but the Republican Supreme Court wouldn't let us find out for sure.
Maybe 9/11 wouldn't have happened.
Taxes would be higher on the rich, and the minimum wage would be higher.
And relations with almost every other country in the world would be better.

We wouldn't be in Iraq, and would not have taken care of Osama in Afghanistan. In fact the world would roll right over us....because they would know we do not have the balls to back anything up. (and we wouldn't for long....due to massive military budget cuts.)
A significant portion of the U.S. would have been turned into national parks.
If you think the economy is bad now, unemployment would be higher, taxes would be higher, and the stock market would drive half of our brokers to suicide and bankruptcy court.
The air would be cleaner due to more corporate environmental regulation. But, see above about unemployment and the stock market.
The privacy of U.S. citizens would be protected. The Patriot Act would not have made it.
It would be illegal to exercise your right to own and bear arms.
9/11 still would have happened...and the guy "who invented the internet" would have been a poor leader during crisis. (what a moronic statement)
Mexico would overrun us. Iraq would be bombing us along with Afghanistan and China would have all of our oil. Driving our economy even into more desperate times See weakened economy above. Or sum it up to say we would almost be in a great depression range.
Hilary would still lose in 2008. Although a Republican president would have been a shoe in in 08.
Minimum wage would be higher. Welfare would have more recipients. The rich would hoard money causing the economy to drop further. (Bush's tax cuts mostly hit business owners...aka most of your employers and middle class....the elite wealthy did not exactly get money back....they still owe....)
There would probably be another scandal in the white house.
Gay marriage would be legal nationwide. Kids could probably get porn as early as 5. (wasn't it hilary that pushed for that years ago?)
All elements of the Christian heritage many of the founders had would be removed. All crosses, ten commandments, etc. In fact all grave sites at military cemetaries may have to have their crosses removed. To some extent this is happening now...but I think it would be worse. I also think the current supreme court will reverse some of that.
North Korea would be bombing us.
Israel would have been forced to take over Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Iran. (they would have won too...)
Israel will still pre-emptive strike Iran's nuke facility that is in development before it becomes operational.
U.S. airports would be less safe then they are now.
Some good things....more bad things. Overall we would be worse off.

unbelievable answers so far. "9/11 wouldnt have happened"????
are you people smoking crack?
Are you forgetting the world trade center bombing, and the USS cole which happened under Clinton?
The only thing different would be that gore would have ignored it allowing another domestic attack. Saddam would still be playing games with weapons inspectors without U.N. interference, becauseof the Iraqi oil contracts with France and Russia. Many good social programs would still be lacking the funding because clinton cut them, and inflation would be at an all time high due to minimum wage increases.

"albshplftr" said "we would be back under England's rule". Speaking as an Englishman that's complete bollocks. At least under Gore American politics might benefit from some intelligent thought. That would be good. Bush is a dangerous idiot, and any alternative would be an improvement. Speaking of being back under England's rule, the USA, on 4th July, celebrated Independence from the rule of a mad idiot called George (who was only there because his father was there before him, and was also called George.)
