They are. I'm from Germany, but I'm not into the designer bags. My mother is though. She bought me two Luis Veton bags for Christmas. (Can you tell I'm not into that stuff, I know I didn't spell Luis Veton right!) I can't remember what she paid but it was so much sheaper than over here. So are the cars. I almost bought a Mercadez for what you would pay for a Hyundai.

they are a little bit cheaper, as we have to pay "duty" (import tax) on things from other countries here. You may save 10-15% on duty by purchasing something in the country of origin. You may or may not also save paying sales tax as well... this can add up to a nice chunk of change when you talk about $1000 item, that could be an extra $200 in taxes you end up saving.
