Political Correctness is the concept that speech should not offend its listeners. However, challenges to any concept, ideology, moral, or view often cause offense. Offense is usually a matter of position and opionion. Even diplomacy varies from mind to mind. Offense is often necessary for progress.

To enforce Political Correctness is to forbid opposing opinions. To forbid oppossing opions is to dictate speech. To dictate speech is to dictate society. To dictate society is to strive against Democracy.

Is not Political Correctness, really, Political Control?

I agree it is a form of political control but the control is exercised by people with very tiny brains, and they worry about how various groups might be offended by some word or phrase, whereas in fact you will normally find that the group involved takes no offence whatsoever. It's all in that tiny, tiny mind of the PC bureaucrat. I refuse to recognise the concept of Political Correctness! Let's have a general uprising against the whole nutty concept!

well... the thing is... it's not the law... you can be as un-PC as you want and no one is going to do anything but give you dirty looks... maybe call you a name....

so it's not really political at all... it's a social pressure...

I mean... Rush and Coulter make careers out of being "un-PC"... and people only like it for that reason... the fact that "they aren't suppose to say that"

I mean there have always been things that are not popular to say... and in the end... that's all it really is... what is popular or unpopular to say...

Yes, but it is not the government who is oppressive: It is us. We are to blame. For example, try being a conservative on a university campus. Try speaking up for legalized immigration. You will be branded a racist. We deserve to live under an oppressive government, because we cannot live with true freedom.
