Is the coast just going to move in a few miles--or will it be like it was in waterworld?

The melting of all existing ice sheets would result in a sea level rise of ~80 meters. That is about 263 feet. Pretty high, but nothing like Waterworld.

Well... the technical answer to "What elevation will be the new sea level?" is zero. Sea level changes when the level of the sea changes.

Seriously, if they were to melt, it would cover a large portion on the land, possibly reducing some continents to a quarter, and maybe almost half their size. However, global warming is not an issue.

the current guess is about 3 ft., but i think it will be higher than that
