Titanic made just over $600 million in the U.S alone. Pirates will do well, probably take second or third, but given that sales declined by more than 50% from week one (135 million to 62 million the following week) I don't think it'll get much higher than the $400 million mark.
There is nothing spectacular about the movie that will continue to draw people back for a four-fifth-sixth showing...unlike the people that were going to Titanic.

I dont know about Titanic but it has beat the last biggest opening weekend when Spider Man 2 came out Im sure the record set by Titanic has been beaten already anyway

Total gross sales of Titanic worldwide is $600,743,440.For 10 days alone POTC grossed more over $250M, a breaking record for movie industry in US....So I think POTC can indeed beat Titanic for breaking the all-time not only in domestic record but also worldwide.

It shouldn't. Everyone's going to see it because the first one was so good. Sadly the second Pirates SUCKED!!!! Seriously, I've lost so much respect for the intelligence of people who actually liked this flick. It shows how sad the American movie viewer has gotten.
