Are you straining? If you haven't been going regularly then your stools will have hardened and this may be causing the bleeding. If your tense or trying to force it, it's likely to bleed. If your sure you haven't got piles and don't want to go to the doctor, just make sure you drink loads of water, plenty of vegetables and eat high fibre foods. this should help or even go the whole hog and do a complete detox cutting out everything refined and all caffiene. If you've tried everything and your still bleeding, phone up NHS Direct 0845 4647 and speak to a nurse ( you can remain anon)

My daughter has anal fissures this is caused by the stool being too hard to pass and ripping the exit of her bottom which causes bleeding. You can buy lactulose from the chemist this is a stool softener. You also need to drink plenty of fluids if you can about 4 pints of water a day try eating more fruit and veg as well.
I am talking about a small amount of blood on the toilet roll when she wipes if it is more than that I think you really do need to see a doctor.

There could be any number of reasons for this. The most likely is that you have haemorrhoids (piles), which although can be painful is easily treated. That said, there could be other reasons, such as digestive problems like colitis or a stomach ulcer.

You need to see your doctor. I know it's embarrassing but he/she is trained to deal with these sorts of problems and will understand. Think how much more difficult it'll be if the problem gets worse, to the point where you are seriously ill - you'll need to see a doctor then, wont you? So be sensible and see your doctor now.

My sister suffers from the same. She went to the doctor and he said she had torn the inner wall of her rectum somehow (maybe having a really big poo). Blood used to pour from her sometimes. I've even had the occasional drop of blood. I can happen to some people if they have been eating certain foods that tear the rectum as a result. It is wise to go to the doctors however as it can also be a sympton of piles and bowel cancer. Its a bit embarassing but definitely worth the peace of mind. If it helps, just imagine my sister bending over in the doctors showing him her bum!

Try a stool softener. It just sounds like your going to much for your body if that makes sense. Use a stool softener and that will make things easier, but you have to drink tons of water to make the stool softener effective! Good luck!
