It's not so much that they just suck, which they totally do, it's that everything is a sequel or a remake, or a sequel of a remake. There are no more original songs, movies, or games. It's depressing as hell.

A lot of movies now SUCK!!! It's a touch and go situation. If a movie is advertised way to much on television I won't even bother unless it's a movie I knew was coming ouot and I already planned on seeing it. Good example is X3, The Last Stand. Good movie action wise but if you know the characters it sucked. I knew that already and just saw it as the good action flick it was.

I agree, on a starbucks cup i once read that movies have a specific date that they are going to be released but casablanka did not. Some didn't think it would and it turned out to be good, i think that the best movies know adays are like Lord of The Rings and movies by peter Jackson.

I agree that script writers often go for dumbed down scripts to save money and because it sells. Seriously, most movie viewers aren't smart enough to comprehend well-packaged scripts. Take Pirates of the Caribbean 2 for example. That has to be the biggest disappointment since I can remember. If you're not four years old, retarded or alcohol wasn't served at your showing, you should not have liked that movie at all. Yet, so many people loved it.

My dog leaves better coils of crap on my lawn, people!

Glad you asked that. Was discussing the same just yesterday. What the h@ll happened? At best one or two a year. Watched Syriana (was rated good) and I have watched better TV shows with much better filming. Looked like they done it with a home camcorder.

You are right. They try to find a rating instead of inspired and entertaining film these days. It's all about the profits and never about what we will really like.

We have run out of ideas, I guess. Once you've seen them, you've seen them all, sort of.

And the entertainment industry is really beginning to feel the burn. Not just at the movies, but T.V., music, radio, they are all cutting back and downsizing. Kinda nice to see considering their heads were getting way too big anyway!

It takes more and more to entertain our culture these days, and the industry struggles to keep up. I agree with you - our intelligence is insulted more by movies now than in the 70's.
