Are the second and third movies supposed to have happened before the first movie? Because our newspaper said that the three movies are supposed to be a reversed trilogy, and that the first movie really happened last. But when I saw Dead Man's Chest, there were some parts that you would think would make sense that it happened before the first one (like the ending!) and then other parts that you would think it happened AFTER the first one. I'm not gonna give examples though cuz I don't want to be a spoiler, but someone.....help?!?! My friends & I are so confused!!!!!

no because in the second movie, Orlando and Keira are being arrested for helping Jack Sparrow escape from the law...
now if it was a reverse trilogy it would be a little hard for them to be arrested before commiting the crime, right?
and in the first one, he still had a few years left to be captain before Davey Jones would take his soul...
so no, i don't believe it is a reverse trilogy due to the fact that all the events are going in order of release!

They are not prequels to the first movie. Dead Mans Chest comes after Curse of the Black Pearl and At Worlds End will come after Dead Mans Chest.

No, the are supposed to happen in order. Pirates of the Carribean, then Dead Man's Chest, and then the next one coming out next year. All in that order.

Why would the ending of the 2nd be before the first??? That makes no sense at all, b/c the capt. said "where's my pearl" or something like that b/c he had lost it from Sparrow.
The order is 1..2..3, It is not like starwars.

It's because in the end JOhnny DEpp is going to be his father, the circle of life, so you could reverse the way things happen in any of the movie.

No..the order of the movies are correct..starts with curse of the black pearl then dead man's chest and the 3rd movie...

i haven't seen the second one yet, but i know that will and elizabeth are supposed to get married in it. if it's a reverse trilogy then that wouldn't make sense in the first movie when elizabeth's still engaged to commodore norrington.

nope. the second movie definalty came after the first one cause will and elizabeth are suppose to get married at the first of the second one.
