It's a big state with a lot of attractions. I've driven through many times, and stopped to check out tourist locations a few times. Among the ones I have enjoyed are the Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg at the east end of the state, the Grand Ole Oprey and Opreyland in Nashville, the State Capitol in Nashville, both near the center of the state, and Graceland in Memphis, at the lower west corner of the state.
I always enjoy spending time in Tennessee. Lots of good people and good food. I especially recommend the Cracker Barrel chain of restaurants that began in Tennessee and are all over the state.

It's a very long state,it depends on where you are going? Dollywood is a theme park in Pigeon Forge. You can find many things to do there in that area. Gatlinburg is next to it as well the Blue ridge parkway and things to see in the Mountains. Like I said it's a long state, check on line, keyword Tennessee.

I like the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN. I've also been to and enjoyed Pigeon Forge, TN (home of Dollywood). If you are in the western part of the state, Shiloh National Military Park is cool, as well as Fort Donelson National Military Park.

I've been there but I was too young to remember much about it. It depends what part of the state you are going to. If you like country music and are near Nashville, you hit 'pay dirt.' Find out if your folks are AAA members, and if so, pick up a tourbook on Tenn. If not, check your local library or Barnes and Noble for Frommer's guide and you'll find tons of stuff-have a fun trip!

Tennessee is wonderful. It really depends on what part you are going to as to what to do. Rafting the Ocoee is fun if you have enough in your group. Ruby Falls and Rock City are fun if you are near Chattanooga. Gatlinburg is supposed to be nice. I've never been there though. I have some friends who live in Nashville (or maybe just near it) and they love it.

Smokey Mountains NP is one of the best in the US and is the best on the east coast. Lots to do in the Park and on the North side is Pigeon Forge and Gaitlinburg.

TN is a wide state. If you're staying in Memphis, then it doesn't do any good to talk about Gatlinburg or Chattanooga, because they're about an 8 hour drive away.
