The hormones are injected into livestock such as cattle to improve growth rates and feed efficiency (more livestock feed they eat is converted into sell-able product). The hormones levels have been found to not be significantly higher than those naturally in meat or milk (they are also used to improve milk production). I was raised on a farm, I majored in Animal Science, I have seen agriculture first hand, and I have traveled across the country visiting facilities many of which use hormones. I trust their meat and would never pay a premium for organic or "natural" meat.

hi Akita - i have been uncooked feeding for pretty a lot 2 years and feed dogs and cats this kind. i have only raised my first uncooked fed muddle of domestic dogs too. they all started on floor chicken frames and different meats at about 4 weeks old and were crunching through drumsticks by using 5 a million/2 weeks. i imagine the chemical compounds that each man or woman is speaking about may be flavour enhancers that are frequently used even as processing meat on the marketplace. those are injected below the floor before packaging no longer into the stay birds. There are very strict rules on what may be utilized on foodstuff animals and a tremendous kind of the memories about hormones etc are fable. have you ever joined between the uncooked feeding lists? RawMeatyBones and rawfeeding are both crammed with knowledgeable and supportive people. i'd commence with one protein and easily upload new issues gradually. purpose for roughly 70-eighty% muscle, 10-15% offal and 10-15% fit for human consumption bone over the approach per week or 2. the most important reason for disillusioned stomachs on the initiating is too a lot foodstuff or too a lot form so commence slowly - about 2% of predicted man or woman bodyweight in accordance to day is about accurate for a puppy and then modify from there..

If you have ever known anyone that has taken steriods they'll tell you no. Growth hormones have to be kept in a fairly cool state cause they will breakdown in heat over 100-130 degreess.

Hence when you cook your meat, they are inactive and don't effect you.

PS - they inject livestock to increase the meat yield not to improve the flavor.

Many theorists, including myself, believe that since you eat your food and whatever your food ate (indirectly), these hormones go into your body. I feel that it is because of this that kids are "growing-up" faster. Kids are taller and more physically mature at younger ages than any generation before. This is not just small changes that can be accounted for in genetic trends, but it is significant. There is a distinct ocrrelation with people getting bigger and maturing faster and the advent of the use of growth hormones in livestock. As for, you know, it may make it grow earlier in puberty, but it may not make it any bigger in the long run. Unfortunately, my friend, that is more genetic than anything.
