I thought that she dropped it but she still had it and by the time we got home she chewed about 1/4 of it off. I am mortified? Will she be sick or will I just see pieces of Elmo in her diaper later?

Don't worry, it should pass just fine.

LMAO If I counted the number of stickers that my two boys have eaten and added them up, I'd probably have enough stickers to go across the entire state of Georgia. Every time they went to the doctor (and as I'm sure you know, it's a LOT) they'd get a sticker. Without fail, I'd look in the back as I was driving home and see part of a sticker hanging out of the corner of their mouths. They always got stickers stuck to the front of their shirt, and once they got older, they started pulling them off and eating them. The first time this happened with my older son, I freaked out. I actually pulled the car over and called the ped's office on my cell phone. She laughed until she was nearly crying. It's only paper with a *tiny* bit of adhesive on it. I'm sure your daughter is fine. :)

And I wouldn't be looking for Elmo...chances are, Elmo is in her intestines by now and all his furry red cuteness is long gone... :D

:-) Don't worry! The sticker's not going to hurt her at all. The paper will dissolve in her stomach and she'll poop it out. You won't even notice it. With paper items, you really don't have to worry about them not passing through alright, or poisoning your child. Especially not in such a small quantity. The best advice I can give, is just to let it be. And keep a closer eye on her next time. Though, I gurantee you this was the first of many weird eating things to come! If you're ever in doubt about something she eats or swallows, just phone your doc for confirmation that all is well. Good luck!

You will see it in her diaper later. My 3 year old used to eat all kinds of paper, I don't know why but it never made her sick, just came out the other end! LOL.

It's alright, my daughter is 13 months old and she has eaten part of a sticker that the baggers at Kroger stuck on her shirt, we were half way home when i noticed that she had peeled the sticker off of her shirt and started eating eating it. Now when someone tries to give her a sticker i tell them she will eat it.

Sounds like it made it down without a hitch. It should pass through without a problem. If you are that worried, especially if you don't see Elmo passing, talk to your doctor to calm your worries.

You probably won't even notice anything in her diaper either. She'll be fine. My 2 yr old has tried to eat just about anything imaginable and has survived it well. Luckily we've never had to contact poison control :)

She probably won't be sick and Elmo might be a little bit disguised from his trip, but that's about it.
