It IS for meeting people. It is a social networking website. That phrase itself indicates that it is for meeting and/or networking with other people.

What else would it be for? You have a profile, in which you tell people about yourself, share your pictures, and blogs, and allow people to communicate with you.

sure, you can listen to music and watch some videos. That's the underlying part of myspace. It was created for and is still used for the purpose of meeting people.

NOTHING is wrong with MySpace! It is a means for meeting new people AS WELL AS keeping in touch with old friends! Sure you can do it by phone or letter or whatever. The point is that it is fun, cheaper, and something interesting to do! I am SO sick of all of this stuff on the news, it's getting rediculous. It is the parents' job to monitor their children's internet activities. Sure parents should give their children and privacy when they need it. If MySpace didn't exist, something else would! There are millions of other sites out there as well as other ways to communicate. This is why MySpace has several privacy features to help protect your children from predators. 15 years of age and under = automatic private profile, you must be on their friend list in order to view their page. Hey, if all else fails parents, get a MySpace and add your child. They can't object to that! I'm 22 and have many friends, family, and even my favorite bands on my friends list. I can also set my profile to private if I only want my friends viewing it, which it is set to private by the way. AND I can change my name where I can't be searched, are you catching on? It really is that simple. I suggest that if you want your children to have nothing to do with this site, then take their internet away while you're away or monitor them while they're browsing! Thanks for taking the time out to read my opinion! MIR

I use it to keep in touch with friends who have moved away. Parents may be worried that something bad could happen, like child predators and stuff like that.
I think you're suppose to be 18 for myspace anyway? I think.
