Thought or language. Without thought can you have language? Without language can you have thought?
Convince me why.

thought....how could anyone think of using sounds to communicate if they cant think!

Language is made up of thought and then forced out the mouth. You can have sound without language. I would say that sound came first, then thought, then language.

I believe it's impossible to have society without language.
I think any level of higher thought is impossible without language, but you can clearly see through experiments that monkeys and chimps are intelligent enough to 'think', but they don't use language.

Thought came first, you don't need to know how to talk to be able to speak. Look at those Gorrillas that do sign language, they were obviously thinking b4 hand or they would of not been able to learn sign laguage.
Also, when you're not talking, do you still think, I know I DO lol.

Most animals can think. Animals came before humans, humans brought on speech. So thought came before speech.
