Have you tried the Mr.Clean Miracle Sponge?

I couldn't believe how it just powered off all that burnt on grime!! AMAZING!!

I also found that daily use of Orange Glo really helps too.

i used dish soap when i moved out of my apartment. To be honest, it was the first time i cleaned it in two years (the burners).

I used the liquid soap you use for cleaning dishes in the sink, forget which brand, may have been Ajax, but any grease destroying one should work. I scrubbed with the green scrubbies and one of those spounges with a scrubber on one side. I put the soap on and poured a little boiling watwer on it to wet it.

got it clean enough that the landlord called me to thank me.

Here's 10 tips from user's at the eHow.com site (one of my favorites!!) along with other links that might be useful. Also, Cameo (a stainless steel cleaner), used as a paste on a sponge is one that works for me.

I use an orange scented hand cleanser (the no water required kind) and a lot of elbow grease.
