Cotton Candy and Little Girls: Pink is a softer, less violent red. Pink is the sweet side of red. It's cotton candy and bubble gum and babies, especially little girls.
Nature of Pink: While red stirs up passion and action, studies have shown that large amounts of pink can create physical weakness in people. Perhaps there is a tie-in between this physical reaction and the color's association with the so-called weaker sex.
Culture of Pink: In some cultures, such as the US, pink is the color of little girls. It represents sugar and spice and everything nice. Pink for men goes in and out of style. Most people still think of pink as a feminine, delicate color.
Using Pink: Both red and pink denote love but while red is hot passion, pink is romantic and charming. Use pink to convey playfulness (hot pink flamingoes) and tenderness (pastel pinks). Multiple shades of pink and light purple or other pastels used together maintain the soft, delicate, and playful nature of pink. Add strength with darker shades of pinks and purple and burgundy.
Using Pink with Other Colors: All shades of pink get sophisticated when combined with black or gray or medium to darker shades of blue. Medium to dark green with pink is also a sharp-looking combo.
Language of Pink: The use of pink in familiar phrases can help a designer see how their color of choice might be perceived by others — both the positive and negative aspects.

In the pink - healthy
Tickled pink - happy, content
Pink collar - female office worker (sometimes used in a derogatory manner)

I don't think most girls necessarily like pink more than any other color. It has become associated with everything "girl", but I don't think that's what makes it a favorite. This is just my own opinion, here is what I think the attraction for pink is about. All colors tend to effect our moods in different ways. There have actually been studies done to prove this. For example, paint your kitchen orange and you are bound to probably eat more. When they put people in a pink room they found the people demonstrated physical strength and a highly positive mood. All species are affected by color, I don't know what this is about, it would be interesting to learn more. Maybe it is just one of those great mysteries of our awesome universe. Oh, sorry back to pink. Bonus for pink, it enhances all skin tones! So understanding this, who wouldn't want to wear pink or have pink around? One more side note, I read somewhere that pink was originally considered a color for boys, and light blue was considered the "little girl color" and that didn't switch until around the same period of time as World War II. Interesting, you've made me want to look into this further now. Have a good day.

FIrst thing for that is they embrace the preference of girls & women from time immemorial. They don't wish to be different from the image they have inherited. & been blessed with.

Pink is feminine. It shouts to the World GIRLs Are Girls & NOT BOYS! It is PINK that separates them from Boys so that they would get the full focus & admiration of The Boys! Girls want to be boy-magnets & always wish to attract! It is in their elements.

Pink BEST expresses Girls & their mercurial moods.Girls are Creatures of moods & that's why they are aloof, mysterious & intriguing & appealing to boys. The color jumps out & grabs all that's manly.

It matches with the pink color of the bodies & blushing cheeks of most of the girls. That is why girls appear in pink nail-polish, lip-color & tight pink dresses that melts with the body color & makes them look like they're nude. What an advantage! Pink accentuates their beauty, doesn't it?

actually I never liked pink until about two years ago. At the time I was working at Filene's and we where getting a bunch of pink clothes in and at first I hated them but I slowly started liking them more and more. Now I love pink. I think that pink is the "in" color and sometimes when you see something alot you get used to it and even grow to like it.

Opinions vary, my fiance is crazy for blues. I think it's because pink is a soft color and known to be feminine and it's in the nature of most women to be giving and feeling in themselves. Maybe as well all their bedding and clothes were pink, since most are since they were babies.Even in the hospital they are given pink blankets and ribbons, right? But, it's a matter of choice and moods.

Pink was actually first considered a boy color, but as the years passed it is now considered a "girly" color. So girls like it now because it's girly.

I think it has something with the way they were raised. I mean, most people put pink on a girl and blue on a boy. I, however, got hand me downs and don't favor a certain color.

Because females see color differently than males. They see a shade of green that most men cant see and thus all colors look different to them. This is something that has been tested and proven. This additional shade of green shows up in all the colors and affects how each color looks and feels.
