First of all, get a hold of a good travel agent. Stay away from consumer booking engines. I get calls with horror stories about these every day, and as an agent, I cannot help - I would be working for free and taking on a problem to which there is no easy answer.

Travel agencies have arrangements and relationships with many wholesalers, particularly for Caribbean packages. They be able to make recommendations and put together a trip for you - to your specificaitons. Also, you will have something you do not have on Expedia - accountability.

Also, I can almost guarantee you that you will not save money booking to Punta Cana on Expedia.

Maybe it's too far in advance for Expedia. I've had that happen before.
Sign up at travelzoo.com for their weekly Top 20, they send you listings of awesome deals and link you to the resort or agent directly.
Call the resort directly to see if they have rooms availible too.

It means that expedia has sold it's share of rooms that it's been given to offer on the site. Book through somewhere else.

I have used this site many times and none of the travelagents i talked to could come close on price. also you may want to check out www.tripadvisor.com they have alot of forums and reviews from every resort. some one over there might be able to help you
