V for Vendetta. I saw this movie when it first came out and I'm still thinking about it. Hugo Weaving as V is one of the best performances I've seen, and Natalie Portman has never been better. Extremely relevant movie. Read the graphic novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd.

My ''old'' favorite is still Howl's Moving Castle (2004) Believe it or not, it turned out better than any movie release this year, including Pirates. The collaboration of three great people made it possible:
Diana Wynne Jones (Book)
Hayao Miyazaki (Japanese Director)
John Lasseter (American Director)

That's a hard one to answer but the first two that come to mind are "V for Vendetta" and "Last Holiday".
