I think the most recognizable would be Lincoln. Especially when he wore the hat. Others would be Washingon or Kennedy. "Well known" would have to go to Lincoln as well. If it weren't for the Civil War, though, we probably would know very little about the man. We would probably know more about Taft.

Personally my favorite was President Reagan.
Overall the most well known would be Abraham Lincoln.
Even a small child will know who he is by sight.

It has to be Washington. The man set the standard for being a president, they told him he could be president till he died and he said nope, im stepping down in due time.

it's got to be Ronald Reagan.... he ended the cold war through his Star Wars plan... That was the reason why the Soviet went down. they spent more money on space program to compete with the US and then voila they were bankrupt;-)
