I think it is very difficult for long distance to work. Relationships are hard as it is. As humans we need that physical contact, that hug, that kiss, looking into each others, interacting on every day activities w/ our loved ones. You can talk on the phone, IM or whatever else, but it will never be even close to what having that person next to you is. Unless one of the parties involved is planning to move to where the other one, then it might work. Otherwise, i think is a waste of time. Cuase over the phone we can say all we want, but is the actual interaction taht defines a relationship and you really get to know someone.

Yes.......It works when you are able to honestly communicate and trust your partner. But the distance makes it very difficult for we as humans need physical companionship and touch. My fiance and I endured a long distance relationship for 2 years prior to moving in together then becoming engaged.

It was very difficult but we made it work through daily phone calls and instant messaging on the computer. We also visited one another ever 4-6 months sharing a week together during those visits. It can work out well but communication is the the ultimate key.

You MUST share your feelings and be honest about them in order to secure a commited relationship with your partner.

Goodluck~!~

For a while, certainly. But eventually they have to become short-distance relationships. I met my wife online and we had a long-distance relationship for a little over four months. Then she moved 400 miles and we were married. Since the move, she has earned a degree and is making 30 percent more than she was in her former job.

yes!
they can work
My boyfriend and I are long distance and we've been going out for more that 7 months and we love each other very much!
I think long distance relationships are better in a way because you can get to know the person instead of hitting the sheets everynight

It all depends on: Is it real love? Can you afford to travel? Can you both be faithful? My experience is: it doesn't work, but you could be an exception. Many long distance relationships have worked out.

Sure they can but the real question is how long does it have to be long distance?

Wait, one more question. Was it an online meeting? If so, heeeeeeeeck no!

Yes, but it takes alot of work, dicipline and the willingness to make it work.
I even know a hubyy & wife that are having to do this, at the moment, because of a new job for him.

I think they can, my sister lives in Florida and her boyfriend lives in Virginia and they are still together after 5 years. He goes down and sees her when he can and she comes up to visit quite often. I think eventually they will get married and he will probably move down there with her, but they both have to be patient right now. Thats what it takes when you love someone though.

Yes, as long as there are short intervals, where you are both able to see each other and spend time in each others embrace. Otherwise, it's just a friendship, in my opinion.

Its very difficult. I tried it for two years. No matter how hard you try you wind up loosing connection with eachother. Its takes an enormous amount of committment and time and trust. Honestly you better off not wasting your time
