As seen on U.S.A. today.I couldn't wait to vote in the primary elections in my state.It's our civic duty and responsibility to vote.If you ever want to change things VOTE!

People are too apathetic and would rather complain about the government than take time to research the candidates and vote in an election.

It is sad. People who don't vote don't have a right to complain! EVERYONE (who can legally do so) should vote. No excuses.

An intellectual attempt to answer your question would state something along the lines of a plummeting interests in sound-alike candidates or lukewarm issues.

A more DIRECT and common perception is the fact that it is perceived as simply political party-infighting. Pettiness and bickering doesn't seem to make voters eager to turn out. For a lot of people, the lack of concern is because it isn't like they are actually voting for the FINAL winner.


As for the comment of "non-voters should not complain"- I disagree. If you PAY TAXES, you have a right to complain. PERIOD.
