after cleaning it with paper towels and lysol disinfectant spray by hand i got a sponge mop and applied mop and glo floor wax. after a few hours to dry aded a few more coats every few hours. after about 4 coats you could see yourself on the floor and any dirt just wipe off or brush off.

If the tile is terra cotta, flood it, then mop it with a floor cleaner or a solution of lysol, then rinse it. That's what I did with the bathrooms at a campground I used to work at, and the floors *never* got- or stayed- dirty.
