I've been held a gun point. I didn't say anything until they were through talking. The one thing I realized though is as long as they are talking they're not pulling the trigger. So when they stopped talking I began to ask simple questions. The one thing I can tell you is don't get caught lying at this point it may cause the situation to escalate. So be sincere. You find out what they want to talk about and that's what you talk about either until help arrives if someone has possibly called for help or until you feel relief from the situation. They are no longer pointing the weapon at you. Follow instructions and look for a possible means of escape. Sometimes after they're anger is out of their system they'll lower the gun and let you leave, but it's tough to make that call. Identify with them that way they don't have to shoot at a object they have to shoot at a person. You may not understand this, it makes it more difficult for them to justify if it's a rational mind you are dealing with. Don't be a hero! Hero's wind up dead! I rather be a living coward then a dead hero! There are those who can and will pull the trigger and remember the gun is pointed at me...

I'd say "LOOK BEHIND YOU", then grab the gun and point it at them and ask "what are you going to do or say now that i've got the gun!"

I've got no Idea, If i had a gun too, I'd like to think it'd be a different matter, but you never know until it happens.

I would try to see if ther were signs of the weapon being loaded, breech closed, magazine on etc also if the safety catch was on before I made any further decisions!

Don't know till it happens, but probably if I've got time...grovel and beg. Then wish I'd done more with my life and given my son more hugs. It doesn't bear thinking about.
