No it would be the same idea as what the Germans did to the Jewish with the tattoos.

It makes logical sense, theives would have a very hard time stealing info they can not get to. As well as where you lived and worked etc. If there were other info in there that served as a test. the identity crook would not know that info. So they could not make a counterfeit. I believe the technology is here to do it. And I have said to my friends that all minors under 18, 16 min should have that little rice sized tracker placed under the skin. People would say how ghoulish or whatever. But no paternt would ever have to wonder. It could be made to lay dormant. Activating only when both sets of code keys are entered just like a WMD in the silos of middle America. The parents can't just decide to track their kids and the law can't either with out the others blessing.

The hypocrisy is that what we would be willing to do to those who are illegal, convicted of a sex crime, or accused of being a terrorist we surely don't feel comfortable having even if the end result is a better more secure out come. If you are not willing to be transparent to the world and not have near total control over your privacy, then you should not advocate it on others. What people fear is that maybe someone will see they have an Arab surname or Hispanic name etc. Think the person a terrorist, or an illegal and after half a 5th of Jack take his gun and go blow someone away

People talk abut the "mark of the Beast" There is no one world government yet. This chip would not be good anywhere in the world. You could not use it in Darfur. What do you think a drivers license or social security number is? Or your credit card number? If you do not have one, or a combination of them, you can not do anything get a job, rent a home or car, go to college. So that argument is moot.

I would not choose it because this government could not be trusted not to abuse it. I have faith in the merchants.

yes, I would have a microchip implant...there are various reasons to have it done, and various reasons to not do it, but for convenience sake and the life saving potential, I would do it.
The same arguments that are being used against a microchip implant were being used for social security numbers and passports. But, those are being used for safety, security and convenience reasons.
A microchip could contain all my bank, credit card, student loan, mortgage, drivers license, passport (et cetera) information on it...I wouldn't ever have to worry about forgetting my license or being stranded someplace without a wallet and no money.
Also, someone made a comment about hackers hacking the system...the info isn't on a system...it's on the chip, only readable by a person with the correct device to read it. And...all that information is already available for a hacker to hack...not a valid argument. Further, if you're worried about a hacker...you shouldn't have a bank acct...all your money should be in your mattress. I don't think I can say this enough...THE MICROCHIP CANNOT BE HACKED; IT IS NOT A COMPUTER!!!
A microchip could contain medical history. For someone who has a medical condition, this could be a lifesaving device. If someone were to collapse, the EMTs could instantly have that person's medical history to better attend to that person.
If the chip were given such capabilities, it could be a tracking device. This is an IF statement; this DOES NOT mean it WOULD BE a tracking device. If someone were kidnapped, got lost while out hiking, got swept up in a current, etc, the device could be pulled up and the person could be tracked. To think that the gov't has the time or even gives a crap about what each person is doing and that it is an invasion of a person's privacy is putting too much emphasis and importance on that individual. The gov't doesn't track most people now...why would they start doing so? They wouldn't want to waste their time and resources tracking people who are going about their daily lives.
Also, I know many people believe that the information would be readable by any device that is capable of reading the microchip...different devices would only pull up the information the chip bearer would want it to pull up. The medical people's device would only pull up medical info...the police would only pull up your drivers license and/or passport and your police record...
All a microchip would be would be a miniature version of each of the important documents you carry around with you everyday...it's just on such a small device that it wouldn't be feasible to think that a person could keep track of it or not lose it...therefore, the easiest place to store it would be within the body. Also, the original question asked about implanting a microchip...not an RFID tag...those do have some minuscule chance of being tampered with, but the question was referring to a microchip.
In other words...I think it would be great.

It is already being done in some nightclubs. The bouncer just scans the chip to see if you're legal to enter. It also collects your personal information. And then there's pet microchipping.
But personally I wouldn't so it. I have discussed this issue with family members for the last 20 years. It's an old idea that is being brought up front just now. And I think it sucks. It takes away some of your privacy. For instance, if you were being scanned every time you enter Las Vegas, well whatever happens there will not stay there anymore. And then you will receive so many advertisements from every place you've visited. It would be like having a cookie stash in your body but you can't clean your cache. Well that's until someone figures out how to foil with the system. Then people would be issuing new identities with the stroke of a key.
Why aren't iris scans good enough? Or facial density scans, etc.?
I'm sure the government will love microchipping cause they will have better control over us. We wouldn't be able to hide from the tax man cause they can find us with the chip. Good for the tax man. But think of those governments like in North Korea where the technology would cause more harm and murder. Don't forget the Jewish concentration camps and their tattoo marks that they will carry with them for life as a reminder.
It should never be done but I fear it's inevitable once one government gives the okay.

I would absolutely NOT have this implanted.
If this is for commercial use, deal with the credit card. How lazy can we be if we can't whip out the card or cash? I'm not a number to be used for someone else to make money.
If this is for a safety issue, if they need to find a microchip on you, you are already dead, what is the point in being safe now?
If this is for a health care issue, as in your blood type, allergies, so on... Get a bracelet... they already have them. If you have extensive medical problems-- here's an idea, there should maybe be a barcode or # on the bracelet, just like there is on your driver's license and there should be a medical database set up in the same way as a police record would be.

wow! what a great idea! lets put something in our skin that can track us, know our heart rate, control our money, and oh! we're also warned against it in the bible!
some people used to think social security numbers and other such things were 'the mark of the beast' but if you check it out, the bible says it will be on the back of your hand or forehead....guess what! that's exactly the best places to put these chips!

and on a more logical note, this is a world wide wireless system...what happens when a few clever individuals hack it? and it would most likely be controlled by a few large businesses and regulated by the government, anyone here trust your money, life, and your very heart beat to the government???

there are just too many variables and risks to receive something like this. rather die in my cave with my goats and chickens!

lol

No. At first glance, it seems like a very logical, practical, potentially life-saving thing to do. However, I do believe it is the Mark of the Beast yet to come, as so perfectly described in Revelation 13:16-17. Especially interesting is that this mark is stated to be IN the right hand or IN the forehead. It's no tattoo, it's an implant. There are today several precursors to the actual mark of the beast: pet IDs, medical chips, etc. I have no objection to these. The time will come when it will be fairly clear, to those who pay attention, that the New World Order, the one world system, and its supreme leader, "the beast," the charismatic antichrist leader that seems to solve major world dilemmas, has arrived on the scene, and when the entire world is REQUIRED to take this implant. I do not expect to be here when this occurs, because my faith is in my Lord Jesus Christ. For those who are faced with the decision to take the mark, choose death instead of the mark, and live in eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ, who paid for all of your sins on the cross. The mark will give you temporary life on earth, but eternity with Satan himself.

For almost half a century I have kept my life as simple as possible and not involved modern science and technological advancement as much as possible. What for? I like to be in control of my person and life. I don't even use a bank; why pay a company to control my money and set rules for how and when to use it? I own my home, paid up front in cash and the same with a vehicle. I deal with all governmental entities on my own no matter what, whether it's the judicial system, Social Security, Dept. of Motor Vehicles, whatever--I handle it personally and do just fine. A microchip implant for identification purposes would be useless to me.

No, I would never consider this for several reasons. 1. It has a high potential to abusing my civil rights: privacy, equality, and the pursuit of happiness. 2. There are too many people in my (and your) business already. I don't want some unknown person ( or even a known person) stirring my Koolaid. 3. It is not a scare tactic...it's prophecy according to the Holy Scriptures in the Books of Daniel and Revelation I know of for sure. So this means that things are in place right now, and others are coming into place, that will require people to take the mark or die. For us who will be caught up in the Rapture we will escape that terror. But for those who will be left behind it will be an opportunity to once and for all accept Jesus and eternal life; or accept Satan and eternal death. There will be no more middle ground when God's will is done.

I would allow such a chip to be implanted in my body to contain only two things - my credit card number and any necessary medical info (conditions, not numbers) for emergencies. This would prevent many cases of identity theft, and as for someone stealing it by hacking into the chip somehow - scanning your arm would not be the only thing you would have to do. You would also have to enter a code on the pinpad.
P.S.Nostridomius - that is so awesome!

H3LL NO! Why would I let somebody put an chip in my body that could be used to track me wherever I am. That sounds a lot like Nazi Germany. If they would have had the technology they would have used it, you can be sure of that. With multiple other uses, you can be sure that some of those will not be for our own good. It also sounds too much like the mark of the beast from the Bible, and I would think that even an Atheist wouldn't want to tempt that.
