I don't think they'll be retiring soonbut I do think that it was the last world cup for both of them....and the average age of retirement is usually early thirties, however goaltenders usually retire a little later....Dino Zoff was 40 years old and was still tending for the Italian National team.

I don't know about Del Piero, but Cannavaro is going to sign a contract with Real Madrid for 2 years. I guess any Juventus player is gonna retire.

I haven't heard about Del Piero, but I think Cannavaro is yet to retire. According to a site, he is moving to El-Real after Juve relegated to serie B.
How old? It's up to the player. But usually goalkeepers retire at older age than the outfield players. Dino Zoff, if I'm not mistaken, still plays for his country at the age of 40.

theres no age limit for the world cup so players can retire when they feel theyre no longer at their prime and know they cant keep up with the young new players. usually around mid-30s is when players retire.
